This is our simplest provision and does not include a funeral service or any form of ceremony. It is also known as an ‘Unattended Cremation’.
An Unattended Cremation is not a funeral. There is no service, no minister or celebrant; it is direct to the crematorium with no ceremony. There are a number of national, low-cost providers of this service, some of which operate on an industrial scale. This is a service we offer as a family-owned and run Funeral Directors in Market Harborough since 1946. You can rest assured your loved one will be cared for as if they were a member of our own family. We will welcome you to our premises for a face-to-face meeting to complete all necessary arrangements and offer additional services, such as viewings in our chapel of rest. We will tell you which day the cremation will take place, so you can take time out to remember and reflect on your loved one and their life. We also use a local crematorium, and will collect their ashes on your behalf and keep them safely until you are ready.
What is included:
- Collection of the person who has died up to 50 miles (24 hour service)
- Provision of a wood effect simple coffin
- Completion of the necessary paperwork
- Care of the person who has died until the date of the cremation and dressing in a simple gown
- Necessary staff and a suitable vehicle for conveyance of the coffin to a crematorium
- Collection of cremated remains from the crematorium in a biodegradable cardboard casket (other caskets and urns are available at an additonal cost)
- Cremation fee (at a Crematorium of our choice)
- Confirmation of the date of the cremation (you will also be advised once the cremated remains are in our care)
What is not included:
- Viewing in our Chapel of Rest (This can be arranged at an additional charge of £220.00 including preparation and embalming)
- Any attendance at the crematorium by mourners
